Cardi B Defends Publicist After Altercation At Australian Airport
The year may be coming to an end, but it's never too late to get in one, final clapback. Cardi B and her publicist were involved in a verbal scuffle at an airport terminal in Sydney, Australia on Sunday (Dec. 30). Luckily, the situation didn't get too out of hand, but it ended with Cardi's publicist snapping at a scorned fan. Now, the Bronx artist is jumping to her publicist's defense amid the backlash.
It all started when Cardi allegedly refused to take a photo with a fan while passing through the airport. The woman, seemingly ticked off by the unrequited encounter, then yelled: "no wonder your husband left you." In the video shared on Twitter, Cardi appeared to be ignoring the comment as she attempted to cover her face.
The "Money" rapper's publicist, Patience Foster, jumped in the ring for her client instead, telling the woman to mind her business. "B***h, I'll smack the shit out of you," she yelled back as she squared up with the woman. "Don't ever come out your mouth about her motherf**kin' husband. Watch your mouth."
Like everything dealing with the Grammy-nominated artist, the situation immediately garnered a negative reaction from fans. Observing the growing criticism, Cardi stepped in to defend Foster in a video message on Instagram.
"You need to handle your situation like this person, that person…bro, that’s not me," she said in defense of Foster's honor. "Sometimes I don’t even feel like I’m a celebrity 'cause the standards and the way y’all expect these celebrities to act…that is not me motherf**ker."
