Usher's Male Herpes Accuser Drops Request For Medical Records
Last year was undoubtedly a tough one for Usher. Court documents leaked alleging that the singer was knowingly infecting and exposing sexual partners to the herpes virus. John Doe was the only man who filed a lawsuit against the singer, accusing Usher of exposing him to the STD during an encounter in an L.A. spa. In the lawsuit, John Doe requested Usher turn over his medical records. Now it seems that he is having a change of heart. According to court documents obtained by The Blast, John Doe has dropped his request to see the medical records.
John Doe originally filed a motion to compel, which requested Usher turn over his doctors reports as well as any information revealing any past settlements regarding herpes. He accused the Confessions singer of refusing to turn over key evidence in their case by invoking attorney-client privilege and physician-patient privilege.
As previously reported, Doe is just one of several people that accused Usher of exposing them to the virus. Three people – including John Doe, Jane Doe, and Quantasia Sharpton – sued the singer last year. Usher has not publicly addressed the allegations.
It's unclear why the request was dropped, but the court documents reportedly note that John Doe can file the motion again in the event new information comes to light. The case is still ongoing.
