XXXTentacion's Mother Sues Half-Sister For Claiming Murder Was An Inside Job

The rapper's mother is seeking $15,000 in damages.

Four people have been identified in regards to XXXTentacion's death, but his family is currently engaged a legal dispute over his murder case. X's mother, Cleopatra Bernard is reportedly suing the rapper's half-sister, Ariana Onfroy, for libel and slander after she claimed X's murder was the result of an inside job, The Daily Beast reports.

Ariana's comments stem from an interview she did with British publication The Sun in Sept. 2018, in which she claimed some one from her brother's inner circle informed the criminals of where he would be to set him up.

The article didn't directly name Bernard as the culprit, but she feels as though Ariana's statements are damaging to the family name. "It is with such sadness and remorse that the tragic end of [Bernard’s] son’s life had to be muddied with the disgraceful and hatred [sic] words of his sister towards his own mother," Bernard’s lawyers Aaron Behar said in the legal document. "Given [Onfroy’s] horrific and emotionally disturbing accusations made purely out of spite, Plaintiff cannot simply ignore the damage the comments have caused not only to her reputation, but also to her financial and business endeavors as well."

The legal spat might stem fro more than Ariana's comments about X's death however. In The Sun's article, Onfroy also claimed that she is no longer permitted to visit her brother's grave, although it's unclear why. She also accused Bernard of keeping X's newborn child away.

Bernard's lawsuit doesn't address whether some of the claims are true, but screenshots from conversations on social media were posted on Reddit that suggest Bernard and Onfroy are not on good terms. They also allege that X didn't have a good relationship with his half-sister.

As previously reported, XXXTentacion was shot and killed in June 2018. Four suspects were arrested in relation to his murder, including the alleged gun man Michael Boatwright. While the official motive has not been revealed by police, the suspects were believed to be targeting the rapper because of his money.

The rapper's mother is seeking $15,000 in damages.

Barack Obama Talks The Damaging Effects Of Toxic Masculinity

Former President Barack Obama and Golden State Warrior Steph Curry spoke about the importance of creating vulnerable spaces for young boys and men, specifically of color, at the annual My Brother's Keeper summit in Oakland.

“The notion that somehow defining yourself as a man is dependent on, are you able to put somebody else down… able to dominate… that is an old view,” Obama said.

The initiative, which was launched in 2014, is aimed at closing the opportunity gap for boys of color by connecting them with mentors in their desired fields.

Obama, who introduced himself as "Michelle's Husband" and referred to Curry as "Ayesha's Husband," was surrounded on stage by several young men who traveled from Yonkers, New York, Los Angeles, and Nashville.

The former president also spoke on how racism plays a factor in why young men feel the need to use aggression to "prove" themselves.

“Racism historically in this society sends a message that you are ‘less than,’ ” Obama said. “We feel we have to compensate by exaggerating stereotypical ways men are supposed to act. And that’s a trap.”

Along with racism, Obama spoke on how some hip-hop songs perpetuate a negative stereotype of black men as well.

“Ironically, that shows the vulnerability you feel,” Obama said. “If you were very confident about your sexuality, you don’t have to have eight women around you twerking… you seem stressed that you gotta be acting that way.”

“I got one woman who I’m very happy with,” he added."

Blueface Reportedly Facing Prison Time For Unregistered Handgun Possession

According to The Blast, rapper Blueface could face jail time for unregistered handgun possession.

A few weeks ago, the "Thotiana" MC was arrested for possession of a fully-loaded handgun in Los Angeles. The charge is a felony, and carries a maximum of three years behind bars. Coupled with an existing firearm charge, this spells trouble for the California native.

"Back in November, Blueface was busted in Santa Clarita, CA for his alleged involvement in a robbery and vehicle-to-vehicle gunfight," writes The Blast. "He was in a car that crashed into the center divider on the freeway, and he was arrested on a $50,000 bond for assault with a deadly weapon." The rapper (born Jonathan Porter) is due back in court next week.

Despite issues within his personal life, the 22-year-old's professional life continues to thrive. His hit song "Thotiana" currently sits at the No. 20 slot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Rappers such as YG, Cardi B and Nicki Minaj have put their respective spins on the track, and Young M.A. reportedly teased her own version of the song in a now-deleted clip posted to her Instagram.
