J.R. Smith: ‘Meek Mill Can Go To Jail… But 'Nothing Happens’ With R. Kelly?’
He's got a point, y'all.
Multiple celebrities have weighed in with their thoughts regarding the Surviving R. Kelly documentary that aired over the weekend. The six-part, three-night special featured testimonies from several people involved with the controversial musician, including several young women who were allegedly taken advantage of by Kelly.
Of the public figures who have weighed in, many probably didn’t expect to hear from basketball player, J.R. Smith. The Cleveland Cavalier small forward/shooting guard tweeted his reaction about the documentary, and offered a pretty concise thought regarding justice.
"So what y’all telling me is Meek [Mill] can go to jail for riding a dirt bike but R Kelly can sleep an piss on 14 year olds an NOTHING happens!" He wrote.
Meek Mill was sentenced to two to four years behind bars for a probation violation, a charge that was highly documented by the media. Of the several counts child pornography he was sent to trial for, R. Kelly was acquitted of all of them.
Mill was another vocal opponent of Kelly after Surviving R. Kelly aired, writing, “I’m not feeling R after watching that .... it’s so much filthy sh*t going on in this industry nobody will ever really speak on the wild sh*t because most of them could have docs like this or even worst done about them!”
