Kanye West Is Being Sued For $624,000 By A Japanese Fabric Company
Yeezus...
Kanye West is in hot water with a Japanese fabric company, who claims that the Yandhi rapper lifted some of their materials for his Yeezy sneakers. According to The Blast, both Yeezy Apparel LLC. and West himself are reportedly being sued by knitted supplier Toki Sen-I Co for $624,051.
The site reports in 2015, the company and Kanye started a business relationship, and payments during that time period from the Chicago MC were made on time.
However "in June 2018 Kanye placed a large order for various materials of fleece fabric, and they immediately went into production. Toki Sen wanted a down payment for the work, but claim Kanye never ponied up any money, but because of Kanye’s previous history they did not think there would be an issue," the site writes. "They claim that Kanye later came to them and told them he would not be paying for the fabric. Toki Sen says they are owed $624,051 over the fabric, and have offered numerous payment plans to no avail."
The company also alleges that Yeezy Apparel LLC is a "shell" and a "sham" that doesn't have member interest nor capital assets.
"They believe Kanye operates Yeezy Apparel to prevent himself from being personally liable for anything," the site continues. Last summer, a report revealed that the Yeezy brand is worth an estimated $1.5 billion.
