Kenan Thompson Extends Well-Wishes To Fellow 'Mighty Duck' Jussie Smollett
Once a Duck, always a Duck.
Kenan Thompson appeared on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon to converse an assortment of topics. During a discussion about the recent reunion of the actors seen in the beloved ‘90s film The Mighty Ducks, the SNL cast member took the liberty to send his well-wishes to Jussie Smollett, who appeared in the franchise’s first film.
“Speaking of,” Thompson said during the conversation, “We should send some love to Jussie Smollett, ‘cause he is a Mighty Duck.”
In the Mighty Ducks franchise, Smollett played Terry Hall, who didn’t play alongside Thompson’s character, Russ Tyler. Tyler appeared in D2 and D3, while Hall was only in the first film. However… once a Duck, always a Duck.
“I thought about posting on Instagram, but I’m so new to it,” Thompson continued. “I figured this is a way bigger platform, so, we send a lot of love to the Smollett family, send a lot of love the universe, man, because this kind of madness needs to stop.”
Smollett was attacked Tuesday (Jan. 29) with racial and homophobic slurs by two white men in Chicago According to reports, the men reportedly poured bleach on the Empire actor and tied a noose around his neck. Authorities are looking into “persons of interest,” thanks to surveillance footage.
