R. Kelly Is Officially Under Criminal Investigation
The investigation was launched as a result of Lifetime's Surviving R. Kelly.
Sources told the celebrity site that the Fulton County District Attorney's Office has opened an investigation into the numerous allegations of molestation and sexual abuse against women as revealed in Surviving R. Kelly.
Investigators have reportedly been reaching out to several of the survivors who were featured in the TV series, including Asante McGee. The family of Joycelyn Savage, who are still currently searching for their daughter, have also been contacted and are fully cooperating.
The Savage's have also filed a police report, alleging that they have received "harassing" calls from R. Kelly's assistant for speaking out in the docuseries.
As previously reported, Surviving R. Kelly chronicled the disgraced singer's criminal behavior over the span of his 20-year career from marrying Aaliyah at 15 years old to present-day, where he's allegedly been imprisoning women in his homes and studios in Chicago and Atlanta.
VIBE reached out to the Fulton County District Attorney's Office, who declined to comment.
