Tevin Campbell Calls Sen. Kamala Harris Detractor An 'Insufferable Ass'
The R&B icon had a few words after author Tariq Nasheed questioned Sen. Kamala Harris.
The racial and homophobic attack against singer and Empire actor Jussie Smollett has placed a magnifying glass on America's unresolved issues with race and sexuality and has also prompted many in the black and queer communities to speak out.
Several celebrities took to social media to post their support of the 35-year-old actor as well as the condemnation of the brutal assault, which left Smollett with a fractured rib.
However, there were some who didn't extend condolences. Author Tariq Nasheed took to social media Tuesday night (Jan. 29) and questioned if Smollett's attack would be used as a way to gain political ground.
While some of Nasheed's supporters pondered the same query, R&B icon Tevin Campbell dismissed the comment.
Campbell received a bit of backlash from those who remembered his brief feud with author Luvvie Ajayi. The 42-year-old responded by laughing it off and accused Nasheed of using Smollett's attack to discredit Sen. Harris.
Since the Senator announced she'd be running for president, her time as a prosecutor has been deeply scrutinized. Nasheed, author of The Art of Mackin', has been a staunch detractor.
Yet, he focused his energy on Campbell and his comments.
