Shaggy Details Grammy Win With Sting And Upcoming Album 'Wah Gwaan'
Get ready for "12 tracks of eargasmic pleasure."
His collaborative album with Police frontman Sting, 44/876, won the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album. Shaggy detailed that Sting was unable to attend the event since he's out of the country, but he said the "Every Breath You Take" musician called him and told him of their win.
"[We] wanted to have gin and Ting to toast to [our] success," Shaggy said of his "Don't Make Me Wait" collaborator. In 2018, the duo spoke with VIBE about their album, detailing that their commonalities helped to make the 15-track album a critical success.
Rooted in Caribbean culture, Wah Gwaan will reportedly drop on May 10, and will feature collaborations with artists such as Jason DeRulo, Nicky Jamz, and relative newcomer Shenseea, who is signed to Interscope.
"12 tracks of eargasmic pleasure," Shaggy said to laughs. This will be the 50-year-old's 12th studio album.
