Fabolous has reportedly struck a plea deal in his domestic violence case in order to avoid jail time, TMZ reports. His charges will be dismissed as long as he completes an intervention program and stays out of trouble.
According to the Bergen County, NJ Court, the rapper will enter a pretrial intervention program. The program is generally offered to first-time offenders. In addition to his completion of the program, Fab will have to give the court an update on his progress once a month. It's unclear if that progress report includes drug testing. He does not have to participate in any therapy or anger management courses however.
The plea deal is definitely a win for Fabolous, who was looking at 20 years behind bars. In Oct. 2018, the Brooklyn artist was indicted on one count of domestic violence with significant bodily injury, one count of possession of a weapon (scissors), and two counts of threatening to kill his longtime partner and mother of his two kids, Emily B. The indictment stemmed from a heated altercation between the two that was also caught on video. Fabolous and Emily have since patched up their relationship and remain a couple today.
It's unclear when Fab will enter the intervention program at this time.
