Teyana Taylor To Follow 'K.T.S.E.' With Project Slated For Release In 2019
"I am going to do whatever I have to do to make sure I get it out."
Guest starring on Elton John's Apple Music radio show, "Rocket Hour," Teyana Taylor spoke to the "Rocket Man" singer about her journey to R&B stardom and the prospect of a new album.
"Yes," she said. "It's definitely going to come out this year. I am going to do whatever I have to do to make sure I get it out." When asked if Kanye West would be spearheading the production side of the project, Taylor replied, "this one is a little bit of everybody, you know I want to explore a little bit more get a couple more people involved to really bring to life my vision and not just be set on one set person or one sound."
This upcoming project would serve as Taylor's follow-up to her second studio album, K.T.S.E. (Keep That Same Energy). The album debuted at the end of the second quarter in conjunction with Kanye West's major G.O.O.D Music rollout which featured releases from West, Nas, Kid Cudi, and Pusha T.
The album, which received love from most listeners, was absent of a Grammy nomination, something John and Taylor both made note of calling the Recording Academy's exclusion of the 8-track album unbelievable.
John’s "Rocket Hour" will air on Apple Music’s Beats 1 radio Saturday (March 2) at 12 p.m. EST.
