The deal between Oprah's OWN and Tyler Perry has finally produced fruit in the form of two new scripted series. After the jump, we share what we know about them.

According to the good folks over at Shadow And Act, OWN's first pair of scripted series will feature a one-hour drama and a half-hour comedy. The Haves and the Have Nots will follow the dynamics of the affluent Cryer family and the impoverished family of Hanna, their housekeeper, and the dramatic secrets that exist within both families.

Fans of Tyler Perry will note that this show is inspired by his play, yet in the original stage version both families are black. In the OWN production, the show changes the dynamics between the "haves" and the "have nots" by making the Cryer family all-White. John Schneider (Smallville, Dukes of Hazzard) will play the patriarch of the rich Cryer family.

Meanwhile, the half-hour comedy Love Thy Neighbor will star Jonathan Chase, Palmer Williams, Patrice Lovely, Kendra C. Johnson, Andre Hall and Darmirra Brunson (who won Tyler Perry's talent search last year). The show will be set at a place called Love's Diner, where every day the menu serves up good food, great laughs, valuable life lessons and a whole lot of love for its wacky neighbors.

Both shows are set to make their respective debuts on May 28 and 29, on OWN. For the rest of the details about the scripted programs, head over to Shadow And Act by clicking here.
