Waka Flocka is putting down the mic and joining a new foundation to help combat extreme energy poverty and the ebola virus.
To literally shed light on those living in electricity-stricken areas of the world, the Atlanta native teamed up with solar energy company WakaWaka to bring awareness and solutions to this epidemic. With the creation of the WakaWaka Base, the solar-infused product with give those without access to electricity the chance to provide light in their homes and stay connected with friends and family members.
"This simple yet brilliant idea can literally bring people out of the dark in parts of the world that are indeed suffering,” said the "Inky" rapper in a statement. The portable solar power technology company will also seek out to provide electricity for Ebola aid workers, first responders, and West African residents with each pledge made to help create this device.
