Football fans were treated to Aretha Franklin's soulful rendition of the National Anthem before the Minnesota Vikings took on the Detroit Lions yesterday (Nov. 24).
In true diva fashion, the 74-year-old Queen of Soul made sure they totally got their money's worth, by performing a four minutes and 35-second version of "The Star Spangled Banner." Sitting at a piano wearing a gray fur coat and a winter hat to keep herself warm (because she'd be outside for quite some time), Franklin made sure to give fans a show they'd never forget.
While many social media users criticized the length of the performance, others said that because of her legendary status, Auntie Aretha could sing for however long she wanted. Check out the video and some reactions below.
I cooked my whole turkey, ate and did the dishes during Aretha Franklin's National Anthem performance.
