It looks like Meagan Good will be bringing an icon to life for the younger generation.
Deadline reports that the 35-year-old actress will play Foxy Brown in a newly developed television series that will live on Hulu and be executive produced by Tony Kantz and her husband Devon Franklin.
The TV show will be an updated version to the 1974 film Foxy Brown, played by the iconic Pam Grier, who for many in the African-American community still stands as a symbol of a strong and sexy black woman. Good is equally elated about reprising the role Grier made famous, as she too will act as the show's producer.
The 1974 film follows Grier as she seeks revenge against a drug syndicate that shot and killed her boyfriend. The movie, which earned box office success upon its release, also went onto become a cult classic, inspiring other films. Grier's career took off and she was featured in other movies such as Jackie Brown; the Urban Legend.
No word on when production will begin, or when the series will stream on Hulu, but congrats to Good.
