Nike is looking to continue its dominance in the footwear game, especially with the holidays fast approaching. The Metcon family will be expanding later this month, and into 2017. The silhouette is Nike's latest evolution into infiltrating the training shoe market.
Nike is also introducing the Metcon DSX Flyknit, which is designed to serve as the ideal training shoe for fitness as well as high intensity cardio workouts designed for athletes who incorporate strength drills with cardio. It's the most versatile trainer yet, fused with flyknit but lighter and more flexible, making it resourceful for all your exercise needs.
WNBA's Skylar Diggins and NBA's Kyrie Irving are two athletes that need their kicks to perform at the highest of levels, pushing them through the most intense of workouts. It's gotta be the shoes.
Speaking on what training means to her, the former Notre Dame standout said in a press release, "To me training is simple. It’s about preparation. Preparing myself to be on the court, in the classroom, in real life. I’m always preparing myself for the next battle."
Irving relayed a gem to the public about what it takes to push through that fourth quarter burn. "There is an inner peace that you have to find with yourself and it starts whether you’re in the gym or whether you're training. You have to go almost to the brink of insanity to where you’re pushing yourself to that point where you never think you can go. That’s what I try to do."
The Metcon 3 will be available on Dec. 19 on Nike ID and hit Nike retailers on Jan. 5, 2017. The Metcon DSX Flyknit releases on Nike.com on Jan. 2, 2017.
