Donald Trump has found a new friend in Kanye West’s, so it's only right that as president of the United States, he take time to thank the Chicago rapper for showing him love on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Trump tweeted a message Friday (Aug. 10), praising the West for his willingness to “tell the truth.” He also brought up black unemployment rates (again). “One new and great FACT — African American unemployment is the lowest ever recorded in the history of our Country. So honored by this.” Trump tweeted. “Thank you Kanye for your support. It is making a big difference!”

West had nothing but great things to say about Trump during his interview Thursday (Aug. 10), but appeared stumped by at least one question."You've said, 'George Bush doesn't care about black people," Kimmel noted in reference to West's infamous Hurricane Katrina comments. "It makes me wonder: "What makes you think that Donald Trump does - or any people at all?"

Kimmel shot to commercial when West didn't respond, and he didn't answer the question once the interview resumed. The entire chat wasn't all politics though, 'Ye touched on lighter topics as well, like family, music, fashion and porn.

Interestingly, Trump's message to West came several hours after ranting about the NFL anthem controversy. The commander-in-chief is apparently so enraged, that he wants NFL players “suspended without pay,” if they don't stand for the anthem. He went on to insult their intelligence by claiming that the athletes "wanted to show their outrage' at something that most of them are unable to define."
