That Don Lemon, man. A recent Bill Cosby rape accuser sat down with arguably CNN’s most awkward reporter, and the conversation took a “keeping it real goes wrong” turn. Joan Tarshis, a woman who alleges that the comedian raped her 45 years ago, sat down with Lemon to discuss her story. Detailing that she was forced to give the comedian oral sex after trying to deter him with a lie about an infection, the reporter asked her a very candid – and even more uncomfortable – question. “You know, there are ways not to perform oral sex if you didn’t want to do it,” he said. Noticeably throwing Tarshis for a loop, she admitted that thought hadn’t entered her mind. “I was kind of stoned at the time, and quite honestly, that didn’t even enter my mind. Now I wish it would have,” she said. Lemon, making sure that viewers knew the topic at hand, clarified by asking, “Meaning, the using of the teeth, as a weapon, biting,” he remarked between their exchange. I don’t even know what to say about that Don Lemon remark on rape. The exchange is reprehensible, but he identifies as a survivor himself.

What kind of self-loathing must @donlemon, an admitted abuse survivor, experience for him to ask another survivor why she didn’t fight back?
