Miami rapper Zoey Dollaz vows to cook up more music in order to surpass the success of his breakthrough record “Blow A Check.” Since the Bad Boy remix has taken over clubs across the country, the Haitian wordsmith is making power moves to uplift his career to match the success of his predecessors.
“I feel like I’m going to bring a light back to Miami for the young artists,” Zoey exclusively told VIBE. “That’s what I feel like I’m going to do. I’m going to put a light on them and show them that our music ain’t really gone, it’s still here.”
Dollaz, who was born Elvis Millord, has risen from the exclusive circle of booming rappers to come out of Dade county such as Denzel Curry, Bizzy Crook, and Eskeerdo. He caught the attention of hip-hop powerhouses like Jim Jones and Diddy early, who have helped bring his name to the masses.
Since his debut mixtape Love, Money, & Bullets dropped in 2012, Zoey has become an intrinsic voice of the streets in The 305. The support from his local fanbase peaked after the release of his breakthrough project Who Don’t Like Dollaz via Poe Boy Music Group, which features the original version of “Blow A Check.”
After turning up to the Smash David-produced record during the 2nd annual Revolt Music Conference last October, Puffy decided to curate the infectious Bad Boy remix to feature on his recent mixtape MMM. Soon after the tape dropped, more remixes of the song from the likes of Dave East and Slim Jxmmi of Rae Sremmurd began to surface on the Internet.
“I feel as though there’s going to be more people that will do it, but I got actually got my own remix coming out,” the Miami rapper said. “The actual remix. The one with Puff and French, that’s the Bad Boy Edition. I’ve got a few features from my people in the game, but I’m just waiting on the record so I can put it together.”

As his newfound fame continues to grow, the North Miami Beach native has been soaking up every piece of advice he can from Puffy as well as his long-time mentor Jim Jones, who was the first to realize Zoey’s true potential in the rap game.
“There’s Jim Jones,” said Dollaz. “I mean, he’s one of the first who really showed me everything, as far as the industry and how to juggle things. There’s Diddy, as well. Every time I speak to him, he’s always telling me certain stuff I need to do in order to make the right moves.”
Several months after entering the major leagues, Zoey plans to put everything he’s picked up from Diddy and Jones to the ultimate test. Recently, Dollaz dropped his second hit single “Hate Real,” which serves as the follow-up to “Blow A Check” with producer Smash David and 808 Mafia’s TM88 behind the boards.
The Dade County representer also said that his forthcoming mixtape Success And Enemies is set to feature more key players in the game and will give us a better idea of the career-changing lessons he’s learned thus far.
“I got TM88, Smash David and D Rock. I got Fab [Fabolous] on there. I got French Montana on there. I got Verse Simmonds on there. I got a few people on there. I might even have Jim Jones.”
