Donald Sterling has (finally) been boxed out of the Clippers sale.
“This is going to be a good thing for the city, for the league for my family and for all of us,” Shelly said outside of the courthouse. “Come see the Clippers next year.”
The verdict comes after a long, dragged out battle in court after the media firestorm that followed Donald for recordings of him uttering racist remarks that surfaced. He was then “banned for life from the NBA in April, only to file a $1 billion lawsuit against the league for allegedly committing a breach of contract and violating antitrust laws by forcing a team sale.
Through the judge’s recent ruling, Donald can’t delay the sale from proceeding while he appeals the case. The sale is expected to close through before Aug. 15.
