After a night out on the “Drake Vs. Lil Wayne” tour in Hartford, Connecticut, with special guest 50 Cent on Wednesday (Aug. 13), Weezy headed to ESPN HQ in Bristol first thing Thursday with some major announcements.
First, he unveiled the cover for his forthcoming album Tha Carter V on Sportscenter, according to Miss Info. He also apologized to his Mommy Dearest who had yet to see the artwork, which features a little Lil’ Wayne and his ma. Tunechi then parked it at the debate desk alongside First Take trio, Skip Bayless, Cari Champion and Stephen A. Smith, to reveal the project’s release date, Oct. 28.
The big reveal falls right in line with Lil’ Wayne’s recent roll out plan, where he tapped top notch athletes like Floyd Mayweather, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant, to release certain details about his LP. Tha Carter V will include his recent single “Krazy,” and the Drake-assisted hits “Believe Me” and “Grindin’.”
Bonus: Wayne spits over the SportsCenter theme, off the cuff.
