Lindsay Lohan’s community service was a near-death experience (literally). The fiery-haired actress claims that she encountered late diva Whitney Houston’s corpse while slaving away at a Los Angeles morgue in 2012.
Following charges of drunk driving and a probation violation, she clocked in for 12-hour shifts at the morgue from October 11 to March 2012, which coincides with Houston’s death on Feb. 11, 2012. She described the service to London’s Telegraph as “F’d up and inappropriate – because a lot of other people were meant to do it, and they were like: ‘No, they can’t handle it. Lohan can.’ It’s different for me than it would be for other people – like, no one would really have to work at the morgue in LA and roll a body bag for Whitney Houston.”
An official from the Coroner’s Office denied the claim, telling TMZ that Houston was wrapped in a plastic sheet with a cover, not a body bag.
LiLo says she still made light of her situation. “I know it sounds really dark and strange, but I thought it would be a lot worse. I kind of regulated a lot of it,” she said, adding that was OCD with folding. “I was like: OK, wait. Something needs to change, and I think that’s me.”
Lohan is currently in London, gearing up for her role in in David Mamet’s play Speed-the-Plow, opening on Sept. 24 at the West End.
