Adrian Peterson has been deactivated once again after the Minnesota Vikings flipped the script and suspended him indefinitely, placing him on the exempt list from all team activities without pay till his child abuse case has been resolved. “After giving the situation additional thought, we have decided this is the appropriate course of action for the organization and for Adrian,” said Vikings owners Zygi and Mark Wilf in a statement. Peterson was indicted last week in Montgomery, Texas for allegedly beating his 4-year-old son with a switch. He was released on $15,000 bond. The Vikings decided to reinstate the former MVP after he had sat out Sunday’s game. The decision caused major backlash, and sponsors like Anheuser-Busch have since paused their partnership with the league. While Peterson has yet to make an official public statement, his agent, Ben Dogra, told the Associated Press that he co-signed the Vikings’ latest course of action. “This is the best possible outcome given the circumstances,” Dogra said. “Adrian understands the gravity of the situation and this enables him to take care of his personal situation. We fully support Adrian and he looks forward to watching his teammates and coaches being successful during his absence.” Peterson also took to Twitter to post an inspirational message.
