Seemingly out of nowhere, Grant’s potent, clever and auspicious sixteens flooded the rap blogs, smartphones and radio stations far and wide. Grant’s microphone adeptness have been extolled by critics, veteran hip-hop journalists as well as the streets.
Before doing an Outkast tribute at Atlanta’s A3C Music Festival, the Culture Republic/Epic signee met with us at the famed Patchwerk Recording Studios in Downtown Atlanta. On the bottom floor of Patchwerk, Nick discussed growing up on sitcoms like A Different World and The Cosby Show, being influenced by authors Langston Hughes and Lorraine Hansberry, his forthcoming EP, and more.
