UK music journalist Reshma B launched her line of chains just over a year ago, and since that time the statement pieces have been spotted around the necks of Jhene Aiko, Lauryn Hill, Lady Saw, and Popcaan to name a few. This month Reshma B completed a custom order for Madonna who is getting ready to set off on her Rebel Heart world tour.
“I’m inspired by the street slang I hear in my travels from London to Brooklyn to Kingston,” says the globe-trotting correspondent, who blogs as #ReggaeGirlAboutTown. Her biggest-selling slogan piece to date is “Wah Gwan,” as you may have heard President Obama saying during his trip to Jamaica.

Reshma B recently rolled out the new Chronic Collection, which marks her first symbol-based design—the universally recognized pot leaf—now available on chains and earrings. “Everybody seems to love ganja,” says the nonsmoking designer, who says the Day-Glo ones are her personal faves. “They have a cool transparent look in the day and a turnt-up glow in the nightclub UV lights.”
Recently spotted in Popcaan’s latest music video, “Rup Rup (Bad Inna Real Life),” the Chronic Collection chains have become an in-demand accessory for stylish youths from NYC to JA. The new Spring-Summer Day-Glo range is now available in New York at Patricia Field’s LES boutique at 306 Bowery.

And if you find yourself in Manhattan tonight (April 20th), head on down to the Boomshots Unplugged event at Negril Village on West 3rd Street where Reshma B Chains will be on display and available for a limited 4/20 special.
As the designer says: “I hear about them legalizing weed in certain places, but these chains are legal all around the world.”
