Every Labor Day, hip-hop, dance music and jam bands descend upon the Chicago skyline in the form of the North Coast Music Festival. What began in 2010 as a small festival put together by a group of local independent promoters is now in its fifth year, and will feature headliners Snoop Dogg, Kid Cudi, Bassnectar, Alesso, Nicky Romero, Dada Life and Zeds Dead across it’s three days at the tail end of August.
The festival remains at its usual digs, Chicago’s Union Park, but will expand and open up new sections of the West Loop park to the general public. Don’t feel like dealing with the Labor Day weekend crowd? The fest is offering the NCMF VIP Experience for those who can drink legally (aka 21 and over) with hard-to-say-no-to festival amenities like air-conditioned restroom trailers, free bottled water, express entry, reserved viewing areas and complimentary cell phone charging stations.
Other acts on the August 29-31 lineup include Wolfgang Gartner, Griz, Dr Dog, Little Dragon, Future Islands, Keys n Krates, Lettuce, Riff Raff, Washed Out, Wild Belle, and more. Full lineup on the poster above.
