Now there’s a picture that’s worth a thousand words.
The Carters and The Deans connected at this year’s Global Citizen festival in New York City’s Central Park last night (Sept. 27). Lending their star power to a good cause, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Jay Z and Swizz Beatz were all on hand for the free concert that was gifted to volunteers who carried out deeds to help end extreme poverty. Also featuring performances from The Roots and No Doubt, Alicia Keys and Jay Z were also tapped for the event’s lineup.
While Beyonce (kind of) shocked the philanthropic concertgoers with a special appearance during Jay Z’s set, Alicia Keys also took her #WeAreHere campaign to the Great Lawn stage. Accompanied by musicians from Israel and Palestine, Mrs. Swizz Beatz belted out what Ryan Reynolds called “one of the most important songs Alicia Keys has ever written.”
“We are here in the spirit of unity, love, compassion and forgiveness,” she said.
