After being suspended 2 games for a domestic violence incident back in July, Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice will be reliving the vicious attack for the foreseeable future. Last night (Aug. 8), TMZ released elevator surveillance footage of Rice punching Janay Palmer, his then fiancee, in the face which lead to her being knocked out cold. When Ray was originally suspended, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was heavily criticized for such a lenient punishment. He later stated in a letter: “I didn’t get it right.” Goodell also wrote: “My disciplinary decision led the public to question our sincerity, our commitment, and whether we understood the toll that domestic violence inflicts on so many families. I take responsibility both for the decision and for ensuring that our actions in the future reflect our values.” The incident took place on Feb. 15th at the Revel Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. Since then, Palamer and Rice have been married. At press time, the NFL had not yet released a statement on the matter. UPDATE: Ravens beat writer for the Baltimore Sun, Jeff Zrebiec, says NFL has not seen the tape until today:
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said that nobody from NFL has seen the latest Ray Rice video until today.
