Nas continued the celebration of the 20th anniversary of his debut Illmatic last night (Apr. 12) at Day 2 of the 2014 Coachella Music & Arts Festival. Taking the stage to perform the classic album from its “The Genesis” start to its “Ain’t Hard To Tell” finish, Nasty Nas also had a colossal surprise in store for the audience. Mid-way through “The World Is Yours,” the Queens MC was joined by his former Brooklyn rap nemesis, Jay Z, who performed two classics of his own: “Dead Presidents” and “Where I’m From” before congratulating Nas on his album’s anniversary.

After rounding out Illmatic, the final portion of Nas’ set included “Made You Look” and “Hate Me Now,” where Puff Daddy — champagne in hand — would hit the stage as his second special guest. The epic 43-minute set closed out with “One Mic” as the appropriate finale.
