Chris Paul lived up to his reputation as a stand up guy and NBA ambassador this week by honoring a young fan’s mother who passed away from brain cancer. After Thirteen-year-old Jack Gallagher’s mother fell ill, she bought him a pair of Paul’s sneakers. He played his entire 7th grade season in them, but sadly she lost her battle with brain cancer before his next season. Gallagher made a video telling his family’s story and requesting that CP3 write his mother’s initials on his shoes to send his mom a special message. Not only did Paul write her initials on his shoe, he also invited the family to watch the Clippers play the Detroit Pistons, gave Jack CP3 Jordan Brand gear and spent time with the family before and after the game. Seattle Seahawks star Richard Sherman could never be accused of being shy. Last night, he once again backed up his trash talk against division rival San Francisco 49ers. Sherman’s two interceptions helped lead the defending Super Bowl champions to a 19-3 win over the Niners. During the game, Sherman wished fans (many of whom were leaving early) a happy thanksgiving in the form of farewell kisses. Post-game, in response to a question about anything being “mediocre,” a term he used to describe 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree last year, this time, Sherman replied “Yeah, their fans.” The all pro cornerback also proved his point, chowing on some post-game turkey on the Niners 50-yard-line. The Duke Blue Devils are off to a 6-0 start on the season and boast arguably the best player in college basketball, center Jahlil Okafor. But its too early to crown them the best team in the country just yet. Especially since they’re playing teams like the Furman Paladins. Where’s Furman? What’s a Paladin? We don’t know either.
