According to the Worcester District Attorney’s office, Aaron Hernandez’s death has officially been ruled a suicide, and three handwritten notes were found next to a bible in Hernandez’s prison cell.
The official statement from District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr.’s office also revealed information about the state of the cell. Sometime between when Hernandez was locked into his cell at 8 p.m. Tuesday (April 18) and when his body was found by a correction officer at 3:03 a.m. Wednesday (April 19), pieces of cardboard were been jammed into the door tracks from the inside in an attempt to stop anyone from opening the door.

The Daily Mail is claiming to have exclusive information about the circumstances of Hernandez’s suicide and the notes found in the cell. Hernandez reportedly planned his suicide weeks in advance and confided in fellow inmates. It is also said that he covered the floor of his cell in soap so that if he lost his nerve he would not be able to plant his feet firmly on the ground.
The Daily Mail also alleges that one of the suicide notes found in the former NFL player’s cell was addressed to his “gay jailhouse lover.” Currently, Early is not disclosing to whom the letters are addressed to, or what their contents are.
