
The career of Red Sox ace David Ortiz is nearing the end. With only four more games left in the regular season before moving into playoffs, even his longtime rivals thought it proper to bid the icon farewell at his final appearance in Yankee Stadium.

Big Papi on Thursday night (Sept. 29) was honored on the field by former Yankees closer Mariano Rivera with an oil painting created by renowned sports artist Justyn Farano, according to CBS Sports. Also, former MLB pitcher David Cone and Yankees center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury presented Ortiz with a leather-bound book of letters from various Bronx Bombers.
