In spite of what the entertainment reporter had to say, Cabello more than likely won’t part ways with her Spanish surname, considering she plans to embrace her Latinidad throughout the next phase of her career. The Cuban singer is already sitting on new music with Pitbull and J Balvin and isn’t stopping there, according to a recent interview with Billboard.
“I’m most looking forward to just finding more about myself as a person. In creating these songs I’ve really had to dig deep into what I want to talk about and what I want to say. And not just how I’m feeling but what do I want to tell the world about myself. Like who am I? My culture, my heritage,” the former Fifth Harmony star said. “I just want to make music that I would want to listen to.”
Lim – who happens to be half Mexican according to her Instagram – could have been joking as she often infuses humor during her set, according to Latina. However, Camila fans weren’t here for her failed attempt:

Did this @enews reporter really just tell Camila Cabello to lose her last name because it’s “hard to pronounce?”

@eonlineTV literally told camila cabello to drop her last name cause it’s difficult to “pronounce” and “unnecessary”. That’s so rude.
