After making a career out of her Instagram account and starring in the current season of Love & Hip Hop New York, Cardi B drops her first edition of Gangsta Bitch Music, free of charge. “Giving my fans this project for free is important to me, so they have no excuses to hear real sh*t!” said the former stripper. “People have no other choice than to take my music seriously.”
Her opening statement to the rap world is an ode to “gangsta b*tches” worldwide and offers all of the grit, sex appeal and sass her online legion of faithful followers live for. Gangsta Bitch Music Vol. 1 plays into the trope of woman empowerment, using humor, sarcasm and braggadocio to convey feminist messages of independence and monetary gain. The 17-track project boasts production by Swift on Demand, Shaft, James SwanQo, Sean Allen, Josh Xantus and BMC Beats.
