
In the wake of the Orlando massacre at popular nightclub Pulse, where 49 people were pronounced dead, a local Chick-Fil-A opened up on a Sunday to cook up hundreds of their famous chicken sandwiches and batches of their sweet tea.
The Christian-run organization – historical for their anti-LGBT sentiments – then crated their culinary delights to the One Blood donation center. According to DC Gazette, “the food and drinks were handed out, free of charge, to all the people who had lined up to donate blood.”
Considering that a majority of the mass shooting victims were not only of Latino descent, but subscribed to the queer community, why isn’t such a shocking move making bigger headlines?
“The only mentions of the incident have been from individuals on Facebook,” writes DC Gazette. “They have posted photos thanking the restaurant for their thoughtfulness and generosity.”
Alas, kindness does have a ripple effect in the universe.
