While most people take their weekends to enjoy their free time, Cristiano Ronaldo was busy signing his multimillion-dollar deal with Real Madrid for a five-year extension through June of 2021. According to Forbes, the Portuguese superstar will remain one of the highest paid athletes in the world with a stupendous $50 Million USD before taxes.
Ronaldo is undoubtedly among the best soccer players to ever play the game. His club team, Leading Real Madrid, took two Champion League trophies, and he alone won a pair of Ballon d’Or awards, all while scoring 372 goals in 360 games. It’s safe to say he puts impressive numbers on the boards.
The flashy Nike athlete signed for a nine-year deal with the same club back in 2009 and doesn’t plan to leave anytime soon. “As I’ve always said, it is the club of my heart and this is a unique moment in my life, to renew for years.” the athlete said.
Many fans and analysts are questioning his ability to endure such a long contract since he is already 31-years old, but Ronaldo is in tiptop shape and promises longevity saying, “it won’t be my last contract, that’s clear, because in the next five years I will continue doing the same.”
