In a political climate overflowing with anti-black sentiments comes a rap video by David Banner that strikingly expresses rage against police brutality. The oft-outspoken MC has some help taking justice into his own hands in a menacing visual for “Black Fist” off the The God Box album.
Fellow Mississippi rapper Tito Lopez – who traces his Latino roots back to his grandmother – bigs up several historical black figures with agile rhymes. “So you never forget this we did this for Martin and Malcolm, even Mandela/ Jimmie Lee Jackson and then Medgar Evers/ For Clyde Kennard, hard labor slaving in the yard,” rails Tito.

Born Antonio Lopez Mouring, Tito’s lyrical skills caught the attention of hip-hop luminary Dr. Dre back in 2011, and has since worked to be a “breath of fresh air” in an industry full of smoke and mirrors.
