At this time, not only is FIFA knee-deep in one of the biggest corruption scandals to date, but the international football association is arguably prejudiced when it comes to gender equality. So today’s (May 29) announcement that EA Sports’ FIFA 16 will finally feature women players is a victory worth celebrating, as the soccer culture is still deeply rooted in machismo.
The game will launch Sept. 25 and will give gamers the opportunity to become more familiar with the stars of women’s soccer like Alex Morgan (U.S.A.), MartaVieira da Silva (Brasil) and Veronica Boquete (Spain), to name a few.
We’re sure that World Cup stan, Rihanna, is somewhere plotting how she’s going to royally piss off the homies in a game console match, this time using girls.
