
Mexican drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman has been captured and arrested. His wildly adventurous freedom spanned a solid six months.

President Enrique Peña Nieto tweeted the news: “Mission accomplished: we have him. I want to inform the Mexicans that Joaquín Guzmán Loera has been detained.”
El Chapo escaped from a maximum security prison, again, back in July of last year and was almost caught in October, but managed to slip away. Stay tuned as the story continues to unfold.

UPDATE:
According to CBS8, Guzman was apprehended after a shootout with Mexican marines in the city of Los Mochis, in Guzman’s home state of Sinaloa. At the home marines seized two armored vehicles, eight long guns, one handgun and a rocket-propelled grenade launcher.
