Actress Vanessa Marquez, who known for her stint on ‘ER’ as Wendy Goldman from 1994-1997, has reportedly been shot and killed by police at her home in South Pasadena, California, Fox News reports.
Authorities were called to her home by her landlord in efforts to check for her wellbeing. When the officers from the South Pasadena Police Department came, the 49-year-old allegedly confronted them with a BB gun on Thursday morning. As she pointed the gun to them, they opened fire, according to Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Mendoza.
Marquez was hit at least once in the torso, but was pronounced dead once she arrived at the hospital, authorities confirmed. KABC-TV reports that police have been called multiple times to her home in the past.
The news station also states that when the police arrived, she was allegedly having a seizure when the police officers arrived and spoke to her for more than 90 minutes; trying to offer her help. The incident first began at around 11:49 a.m. PT.
“It’s shocking, it’s really awful. I’m just really saddened by the whole thing. It sounds like a horrible, horrible misunderstanding,” neighbor Mark Swaine told ABC.
Marquez was also known for her roles on “Stand and Deliver” and “Twenty Bucks.” In 2017, Marquez accused George Clooney for allegedly blacklisting her after reporting sexual harassment while filming on set for the hit series, ER.
