The late Queen of Tejano Music will finally get her own star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. “The Committee looked carefully at each nominee and we feel that we have selected a great group of talent that will appeal to the tastes of many fans around the world,” announced Vin Di Bona at a press conference held in Hollywood on Tuesday (June 28).
The Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2017 will also honor Eva Longoria, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Ice Cube, John Legend and Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel, among many others.
News of the honor, which was shared by Selena’s family on her Facebook fan page last night, arrives more than two decades after the singer’s untimely death on March 31, 1995. Needless to say, it’s well overdue and fans couldn’t be more overjoyed.
