As of late, Remy Ma has been showing everyone just why they call her the Queen of New York. In addition to providing fans with summer anthems “All The Way Up” and “Cookin’,” Remy has reportedly been hard at work on a joint album with her Terror Squad brother Fat Joe, called Platas o Plomo. Until now, the album was just a name, but Remy hinted at a possible release date for the project at the VH1 Divas Holiday: Unsilent Night red carpet on Friday (Dec. 2).
“The Platas o Plomo album is coming out at the top of the year in January,” Remy revealed on the red carpet to Billboard. “I believe it’s supposed to go out on [January] 9th.” The Bronx native also dropped a few clues about what fans could expect. “When my brother [Fat Joe] and I get in the studio, something magical happens. I think the people are going to be really, really happy with this album,” she added. “It’s a solid, real rap [project]. We didn’t take it to something that’s outside of either one of us. We meshed it all together very nicely.”
Remy and Fat Joe are fresh off of their guest appearances at major shows including Hot 97’s second annual “Hot for the Holidays” concert that went down in Newark, New Jersey on Dec. 3. In addition to the album, Remy revealed that she and Joe are in the works of shooting a video for their latest single “Money Showers,” featuring Ty Dolla $ign. The video doesn’t have a release date as of yet, but expect to hear Platas o Plomo at the top of 2017.
