Latin artist J Balvin sure isn’t a “Bobo” (loser) for this one!
The Colombian reggaetoneros latest hit “Bobo” has topped the Billboard Hot Latin Charts this week and nabs the number 1 spot. “Bobo” is the second single off the superstar artist’s upcoming album, Energia. This accomplishment comes after “Ginza,” Balvin’s first single off the LP, spent 22 weeks on the top of the Billboard charts.
The music video to “Bobo” has garnered over 135 million views since its release on May 13, and it broke the Latin music first day views record by collecting 4.9 million plays on YouTube within 24 hours of its release.
Showcasing his usual comical spirit, the video shows Balvin as Carlos David, a nerd who doesn’t appreciate his girlfriend. What a bobo! (see what we did there).

Making big crossover moves, the artist has collaborated with Justin Bieber on a Latino remix of “Sorry” and has tweeted about spending time in the studio with big names like Kanye West, Big Sean and Chance the Rapper. Balvin has also shared pictures and videos on Instagram of his time spent at the studio with the one and only, Pharrell Williams.
J Balvins album Energia will be available on Earth (and Venus) tomorrow, June 24.
