After being named the first Latino male ambassador for New York’s Fashion week, Balvin makes his way to Stadium Goods to go sneaker shopping with the pop publication. The Latin Grammy-winning artist dropped a few gems about the sneaker culture and gave us an inside look at his first few experiences with the sneaks culture of Colombia.
Balvin started off his Jordan collection from the top getting his first pair of Air Jordan 1s from his cousins from New York before he was able to make trips to this side of the world, but like many sneaker heads coming up in the early 90s and 2000s, his sneaker collection began with the Air Force 1s all white. He even admitted to wanting the Air Force 1s more after hearing Nelly’s smash hit that resonated with sneaker heads all over the world.
After making “Sneaker Shopping” history by changing outfit mid episode, Balvin admits to having the plug for Yeezy brand sneakers having Kanye’s samples a year before their official release date, but also shared he lost all interest in wearing Yeezys after Ye’s meeting with Trump.
The reggaeton star made sure to show his appreciation for Pharrell’s “Human Race” Adidas sneaker line after creating a relationship with Skateboard P when he hopped on “Safari” along with BIA and Sky.
Balvin copped some kicks before he left Stadium Goods, dropping just over $4000. Who knew the Colombian had this much heat on his feet?
