It looks like Jaime Camil’s schedule just got a bit busier. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the television actor is set to host the 32nd annual Television Critics Association awards show in August. Previous entertainers who have tackled hosting duties for the ceremony in prior years include James Corden, Ellen DeGeneres, Terry Crews, Bryan Cranston, Dax Shepard and Bob Newhart. With names like these, it’s safe to say that Camil is in good company.
For those unfamiliar with Jaime Camil’s work, the actor is currently seen by millions as soap opera darling Rogelio de la Vega on the CW’s breakout hit Jane The Virgin. Outside of adding a dose of levity to the Monday night sitcom, the actor is also pulling double duty on Broadway as Billy Flynn in Chicago.
“With his natural charm and quick wit, Jaime Camil has quickly become one of the most likable personalities on television,” said TCA president Amber Dowling. Camil, along with his beloved alter ego Rogelio de la Vega, are the perfect complement to add some sizzle to this special evening.” Since the awards show is non-televised, we can only hope that Camil brings a bit of Rogelio for everyone’s laughing enjoyment.
