Congratulations are in order for Argentina’s star soccer player, Lionel Messi. Not only did the world famous athlete have an incredible game Tuesday evening (June 21) against USA, but he snatched Gabriel Batistuta’s crown as Argentina’s top scorer all the while.
In true Messi fashion, the atomic flea dominated the field last night as Argentina beat USA 4-0. America fell behind early in the game (yikes), giving up a third minute goal and continuously making elementary mistakes until it was all over, and the South American nation proved victorious.
Although #TeamUSA didn’t have much to celebrate, the 28-year-old soccer phenom sure did, making his record-breaking 55th goal 31 minutes into the game. Talk about GOOOOOAL!
#USAvARG: Goooool. Al 32′, Messi hace el segundo para Argentina con un impecable tiro libre. https://t.co/nnWC3mfWFy

Will his legacy include leading his team to victory in the Copa América Centenario final? Tune in June 26.
