Being the first male model for Maybelline comes with new campaigns, the small-minded bigotry and, in this case, a good clap back from a supportive father.
Manny Gutierrez is a skilled makeup artist and famous YouTube star who now serves as the first male Maybelline model and male ambassador. Along with his huge following on YouTube, Gutierrez has collected over three million Instagram followers, all of whom were all excited to witness his breakthrough accomplishment.
His greatest feat to date, however, was met with more than just compliments and well wishes. Matt Walsh, who is a christian columnist for The Blaze, tweeted a homophobic caption under a picture of the model, saying, “Dads, this is why you need to be there to raise your sons.”

Gutierrez tweeted his response to Walsh and let him know that not only was his father “there,” but that he’s been afforded to opportunity to work with his dad. What’s more, Gutierrez’s number one fan also had a message for Walsh, which he issued via son, who then shared across all his social media platforms.
