In January of this year Messiah, the self-proclaimed King of the Spanish remix, talked to us at length about first building a distinguished presence in Washington Heights, New York and then taking his work beyond borders to grow his rapper’s appeal in the Dominican Republic. He delved into his coming-of-age concerning deep-rooted cultural and musical values, before disclosing details on possible collaborations with hip-hop luminaries like 50 Cent and Jay Z.
The course of 2016 saw Messiah release a proper debut album and tour sold-out shows across Europe. Unsurprisingly, what he would do next is bring past claims into fruition, evidently so with an upcoming remix featuring 50 Cent.
As part of Beats 1’s Latino initiative, Messiah told Hot 97’s Ebro Darden that he remixed one of Made in Europe‘s biggest songs with the G-Unit ringleader. His facility in banding together with an international rap heavyweight epitomizes the significance of Messiah’s success, which speaks volumes to the surrounding bicultural/bilingual community, and the Dominican culture at large.
