Dominican rapper Messiah El Artista closed out 2015 with a monumental accomplishment in his budding solo career. Over the weekend, Messiah won over his fans in New York City during his sold-out “Unplugged” show Hell’s Kitchen Stage 48. With the help of a live band, Messiah brought to life trap-tastic tunes like “Ay!” and “Chapi Chapi”, following the sounds of opening act Hot 97’s DJ Camilo on Sunday night (Dec. 27).
After the show, Messiah took to Facebook to thank his hard-working team, his dedicated fans, and his supportive father who helped make his journey to stardom successful. “Thanks to everyone who was part of history!” wrote Messiah, now the first Latino rapper from New York to sell out the multi-use VIP venue.
Since launching his music career in 2010, Messiah’s voice has been echoing through Latin airwaves around the world. Since he was signed to Zion y Lennox’s label Baby Records in 2013, Messiah’s unique approach to hip-hop in Spanish and trap music has fallen upon the ears of other established Latino artists such as Farruko and Don Miguelo, and garnered a mainstream nudge with the help of Power 105’s DJ Flipstar.
Keep your eyes peeled for more on the rising star.
