Back in January, the team of the acclaimed Netflix series Narcos was busy finding new showrunner(s) for a tentative follow-up premiere date of August 2016. Today, Netflix has officially announced that Narcos will be returning for Season 2 this fall. All 10 gritty episodes will premiere on Sept. 2 at 12:01 a.m. PST, exclusively on Netflix.
Although there’s a strong chance that the upcoming season could be the last one (provided the storyline follows known facts, which lead to Pablo Escobar’s demise), rumors suggest that the series could last longer, focusing on times when Escobar was in hiding.

Narcos chronicles the rise and fall of the infamous drug kingpin Pablo Escobar and the Drug Enforcement Agency agents hunting him. Set in Colombia in the 1980s, Netflix’s gripping storytelling details the many oft-conflicting forces – legal, political, military, civilian – that clash in the effort to control one of the world’s most valuable commodities, cocaine.
